On 14 June 2021 Ibrahim Al-Radi, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the Kyrgyz Republic, presented his credentials to Ruslan Kazakbaev, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic.
During the meeting Minister R.Kazakbaev congratulated the head of the diplomatic mission on his appointment and discussed issues on bilateral cooperation in various fields of mutual interest. The parties emphasized the need to give additional impetus to Kyrgyz-Saudi relations and promote greater interaction both bilaterally and multilaterally.
Nevertheless, Ambassador Al-Radi said that according to the decision of the Saudi Arabian authorities and measures, taken in order to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection, this year only Saudi Arabian citizens and foreign citizens, living in KSA, vaccinated against Covid-19, would be allowed to perform the pilgrimage to Mecca (Hajj).
Minister R.Kazakbaev noted that the Kyrgyz side accepted this decision with understanding and expressed hope for an early stabilization of the epidemiological situation. He assured that the above information would be brought to the attention of the relevant state bodies and Spiritual Council of Muslims of Kyrgyzstan.
Ambassador Al-Radi also informed about intention of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud to pay a visit to the Kyrgyz Republic in the middle of July.
Taking into account the importance of this event, Minister R.Kazakbaev expressed the readiness of the Kyrgyz side to receive the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
