On July 21, 2021, the Permanent Representative of the Kyrgyz Republic to the UN and other international organizations in Geneva Mr A. Beishenaliev met with the Chief of staff of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) Mr E. Ambrosi.
During the meeting, the Permanent Representative of the Kyrgyz Republic A.Beishenaliev positively noted the high level of bilateral cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and the IOM.
A.Beishenaliev emphasized that the issues of migration of Kyrgyz
Republic’s citizens and their social and legal protection are the priorities for Kyrgyzstan. In this regard, he expressed his appreciation to Mr Ambrosi for the assistance provided by the organization to Kyrgyzstan.
The parties also discussed topical issues of bilateral cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and the IOM, the current situation with ethnic Kyrgyz groups living in the Great and Little Pamir in Afghanistan and future areas of cooperation in the field of protection of the rights of migrants.
In turn, IOM Chief of Staff E. Ambrosi expressed satisfaction with the level of cooperation of the IOM with Kyrgyzstan and expressed the organization's readiness to continue to provide comprehensive technical, expert and humanitarian assistance to Kyrgyzstan within its mandate.
