On June 24, 2020 in Seoul was held the session of the Executive Committee of the Forum “Central Asia – Republic of Korea”. The forum includes the Director General for European Affairs Bureau of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea, the Executive Director of the Secretariat of the Central Asia – Republic of Korea Forum and the Ambassadors of the Central Asian countries, accredited in the Republic of Korea.
The members of the Executive Committee discussed the upcoming events within the framework of Forum considering the situation with the spread of coronavirus at the global level. The representatives of 6 countries, taking into account the Republic of Korea’s best practice, also exchanged views on promoting the cooperation in healthcare, education, standardization and environmental protection.
The Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Republic of Korea Dinara Kemelova suggested the Korean side to consider the possibility of assisting the countries of Central Asia in capacity building to tackle with coronavirus, taking into account the achievements of the Republic of Korea in this area.
