The Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to Pakistan Ulanbek Totuiaev met with the Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan Syed Haider Shah

On November 18, 2022, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan H.E. Mr. Ulanbek Totuiaev met with the Additional Secretary (UN&ED) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan H.E. Mr. Syed Haider Shah.

During the conversation, the parties discussed topical issues on the agenda of cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Pakistan within the framework of international organizations, and also outlined prospects for further close cooperation at various multilateral platforms. The interlocutors also exchanged views on international issues, including the situation in Afghanistan.

Ambassador H.E. Mr. U.Totuiaev made a special emphasis on the significant role of maintaining and developing Kyrgyz-Pakistani contacts within the UN in order to promote common mutually beneficial positions and initiatives aimed at ensuring Sustainable Development Goals. He expressed gratitude to the Pakistani side for supporting the candidacies of Kyrgyzstan to various bodies of the UN system, including the UN Human Rights Council and non-permanent members of the UN Security Council.

In particular, he expressed gratitude to the Pakistani side for co-sponsoring the draft UN resolution “Sustainable Mountain Development” initiated by Kyrgyzstan, which is being considered within the framework of the Second Committee of the UN General Assembly this year.

In turn, S.Kh.Shah confirmed his readiness for active diverse cooperation with the Kyrgyz side. In this vein, he assured of his readiness to assist in the further promotion of various kinds of initiatives.
