On April 2, 2021 a bilateral meeting between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Ruslan Kazakbaev and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus Vladimir Makei took place in Moscow under the framework of the CIS Council of Foreign Ministers.
Minister Ruslan Kazakbaev briefly informed his Belarusian counterpart about the current internal political situation in the Kyrgyz Republic and the upcoming important political events.
The parties discussed current issues of bilateral cooperation, including holding inter-ministerial political consultations this year.
Noting the importance of continuing cooperation between the two countries within the regional associations' framework, the parties agreed on the need to strengthen bilateral trade and economic cooperation. In this context the Ministers touched upon organizing the next 10th meeting of the joint Intergovernmental commission this year in Kyrgyzstan and holding a bilateral Business forum.
The parties also paid attention to the issues of interaction on international platforms and mutual support and touched upon promoting cooperation in the cultural and humanitarian spheres.
