On January 26, 2023, in the German Bundestag, the Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Federal Republic of Germany Mr. Omurbek Tekebaev met with the Deputy and Chairman of the Committee on Education, Research and Technology Assessment of the German Bundestag Mr. Kai Gering.

During the meeting, current issues of Kyrgyz-German cooperation, especially in the field of education and science, were discussed. In particular, Ambassador Mr. O. Tekebaev noted the importance of further intensifying successful interaction between the two countries on the establishment and development of cooperation between higher, secondary technical and secondary educational institutions, in the field of scientific research. The issues of expanding scholarship support for students and scientists from Kyrgyzstan through the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and the possibility of providing young university graduates with an international parliamentary scholarship from the German Bundestag were also considered.

Member of the Bundestag Mr. Kai Goering noted with satisfaction the successful cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Germany in the field of education and science over the years of cooperation and expressed his readiness to provide assistance to further expand cooperation in this direction.
