Kyrgyz consulate will be opened in Chicago, USA


On July 16-20, 2021, the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in the United States led by Ambassador Bakyt Amanbaev paid a working visit to Chicago, Illinois. During the visit, Bakyt Amanbaev met with compatriots in Chicago and answered their questions. 

During the meeting, Ambassador B. Amanbaev informed his compatriots about the internal political situation in the Kyrgyz Republic, informed them of the plans to open a consulate, listened to the requests and complaints of citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic, talked about the policy aimed at protecting the rights and interests of citizens living abroad, about the introduction of automated information systems to provide consular services.

Representatives of the Kyrgyz diaspora made suggestions for improving the work of the Embassy, spoke about everyday life, areas of work, as well as shared their experiences in various areas of development that could be applied in Kyrgyzstan.

During the visit, the Embassy employees for three days provide consular services to the citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic, including applications for exchange/issue of passports, registration of birth certificates, certificates of repatriation, consular registration, and notarial acts. In total the Embassy performed more than 300 consular actions in three days and provided consultations to more than 100 citizens.
