In order to implement the items of the Celebration Plan of Activities of the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, the Embassy positively worked out the issue of establishing the burial place of the Kyrgyz soldier
M. Salakunov and applying his initials to the mass grave where he was buried.
On March 12, 2020, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic in Ukraine Zh. Sharipov took part in the ceremony of applying the initials of M. Salakunov to the mass grave, laid flowers at the monument and paid tribute to those who died during the Great Patriotic War.
In his welcoming speech, Ambassador Zh. Sharipov noted the contribution of the Kyrgyz soldiers to the Victory over fascism, the importance of perpetuating the memory of those killed during the war, and thanked the local authorities for their assistance in perpetuating the memory of M. Salakunov.
The ceremony was attended by the Head of the Izyumsky district administration L. Shamray, the deputy of the regional council from the Izyumsky district V.Islamov, the head of the village council Dolgon'ke V. Karamushko, villagers, high school students, citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic living in the Kharkiv region.
The ambassador visited the Second World War Museum at the school and presented the students with the Manas epic, Kyrgyz folk tales and the books of Ch.Aitmatov, translated into Ukrainian and published on the initiative of the Embassy.
