On May 23-24, 2022, the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic to Malaysia took part in the international tourism exhibition “The World Travel Exchange Hybrid Southeast Asia - Kuala Lumpur 2022” in the B2B (Business-to-Business) format, on May 23 in a virtual format and on May 24 in a physical presence.
The event was opened with a welcoming speech by the Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture of Malaysia and representatives of the Malaysian Tourism Council. On the exhibition the Embassies of Argentina, Maldives, Saudi Arabia, Croatia, and Sri Lanka also represented the tourism potential of their countries. In overall, more than 160 travel companies from 34 countries took part.
The Embassy was provided with a separate booth for the presentation and promotion of the tourism potential of Kyrgyzstan. Also, the Kyrgyz side was represented by the Kyrgyz travel company “Ai-Gul Turtrevel”. Embassy staff in detail shared information about the country's peculiarities (history, culture, traditions, national cuisine, and nature). Particular attention was paid to the summer and winter tourist seasons.
Souvenirs and handicrafts of Kyrgyz artisans and sweets of national cuisine were widely presented in the Embassy pavilion. In addition, various brochures, and booklets about Kyrgyzstan, as well as various souvenirs were presented to visitors.
It is worth noting that many Malaysian travel companies showed great interest in the country and expressed their interest in visiting Kyrgyzstan in the future in order to establish cooperation with Kyrgyz travel companies.
The organizers of this event expressed their gratitude to the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Malaysia for the participation and worthy representation of Kyrgyzstan in the above exhibition and expressed their hope for holding a similar event on the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic in August this year.
