On April 11, 2019 Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Republic of Korea Dinara Kemelova met with the President of the Korean Agency for International Cooperation (KOICA) Mrs. Li Mikyung to discuss project implementation and working plans for the nearest perspective.
Ambassador Kemelova expressed gratitude to the Government of South Korea and KOIKA for assistance in the areas of agriculture, regional development, improvement of electoral processes and development of e-government. At the same time, she highlighted the importance of expanding assistance in training Kyrgyz specialists in the construction of railways and highways, energy, medicine, IT technologies etc. In addition, she proposed to consider the possibility of promoting projects in the further automation of public services using Korean technologies in the light of the Concept of state policy of regional development and digitalization of the country. She also paid attention to the problems in the field of health care and capacity building of the fire and rescue services of the Kyrgyz Republic.
President of KOICA highly appreciated the democratic achievements in Kyrgyzstan, which coincide with the goals of the Korean Agency. She also noted that, according to the Agency, Kyrgyzstan was entered into top ten travel countries. Regarding joint projects Mrs. Li Mikyung agreed with the importance and relevance of training specialists in the above-mentioned industries, and also said that training was planned in the areas of IT-technologies, banking, mining, transport, law enforcement etc. as part of the project programs for 2019.
The parties agreed to work together in the preparation and implementation of the projects under KOICA.
