On August 19, 2022, in Islamabad, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Ulanbek Totuiaev met with the Minister of Defense of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Khawaja Muhammad Asif. The meeting was organized to exchange views on topical issues and prospects for the development of bilateral military-technical cooperation.

Ambassador U. Totuiaev, emphasizing the significant level of development of military sphere in Pakistan, noted the need to intensify interaction with the Pakistani side in the areas of the defense industry, exchange experience in implementing practical initiatives and innovative solutions in military affairs and organizing training of military personnel, including cadets from Kyrgyzstan in the military educational institutions of Pakistan.

He paid special attention to cooperation on providing the armed forces of the Kyrgyz Republic with modern types of weapons, special means for ensuring the protection of the state border, as well as various types of equipment, especially aviation.

The parties expressed confidence that in the current international and regional situation, the expansion of cooperation between the military authorities of two countries will have a significant impact on the issues of ensuring peace and stability in the region.
