On September 8, 2022, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Ulanbek Totuiaev met with the Minister of Railways and Aviation of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Khawaja Saad Rafique.

During the conversation, the parties discussed topical issues on the bilateral agenda of the Kyrgyz-Pakistani cooperation, in particular, in terms of trade, economic, investment and technical cooperation. In this context, special emphasis was placed on the importance of developing efficient logistics routes between the countries of the region, which is one of the most important factors for building successful mutually beneficial cooperation.

In this regard, the parties agreed to conduct joint work aimed at increasing the number of air flights between Kyrgyzstan and Pakistan. In addition, the parties indicated the importance of joining efforts for the successful implementation of railway communication projects between countries, such as, for example, the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway, as well as Uzbekistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan.

In this context, Minister H.S. Rafique assured that the Pakistani side would soon officially grant permission to Kyrgyz side to operate regular flights between the two countries.
