On December 23-24, 2022, as part of a working trip to Lahore, Punjab province of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to participate in the opening ceremony of the Kyrgyzstan Trade House, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan H.E. Mr. Ulanbek Totuiaev held meetings with government officials and leader of business associations of the Punjab Provincial Capital.

In particular, on December 23, Ambassador H.E. Mr. U.Totuiaev met with the President of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mr.Kashif Anwar. During this meeting, the parties discussed topical issues and prospects for the development of bilateral trade and economic cooperation. They agreed on organizing mutual visits of business delegations of the two countries, as well as on the participation of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry in holding the next Kyrgyz-Pakistani business forum in Bishkek at the beginning next year and organizing an exhibition-fair of various types of products of the two countries on the sidelines of this event.

The issues of organizing joint business projects and other economic events were discussed during the meeting of H.E. Mr. U.Totuiaev with the Chairman of the Punjab Board of Investments and Trade Mr. Fazil Asif Jah on the same day. During the discussion, the parties marked the necessity to strengthen the bilateral trade ties and open joint productions of different types of production of textile and food industry.

On December 24, Ambassador U.Totuiaev held a bilateral meeting with the Acting Mayor of Lahore Mr.Muhammad Aamir Jan, during which the parties stressed on the importance of strengthening interregional cooperation between the two countries. They agreed on the necessity of the soonest adoption of a document on the establishment of sister city relations between the cities of Osh and Lahore.

During all the above meetings, representatives of the Pakistani side were given information about the benefits of trade and economic cooperation with Kyrgyzstan, as well as actual investment projects on the territory of the republic.
