As a result of joint efforts of the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic to the USA and Canada, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic and the US Department of State, 146 citizens of Kyrgyzstan evacuated from the USA and Canada via Frankfurt am Main (Germany) arrived in Bishkek on May 23, 2020.
As is known, due to the worsening epidemiological situation around the world following the COVID-19 pandemic, educational institutions in almost all countries are closed for quarantine. Therefore, many Kyrgyz students, including those in the United States and Canada, had to request assistance in evacuation to Kyrgyzstan. This charter flight was organized by the U.S. side to bring the participants of the FLEX exchange program as well as students and schoolchildren visiting the U.S. and Canada under other educational programs back to Kyrgyzstan.
The Embassy informs that the Embassy's list of citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic who intend to return to Kyrgyzstan in the near future still includes citizens who remain in the United States and Canada on tourist, work visas, and citizens with permanent residence status. The list also includes students who, for financial and other reasons, were unable to take a charter flight through Frankfurt am Main.
The Embassy underlines that the citizens of Kyrgyzstan, previously included in the Embassy's list, will receive information (each personally) about upcoming possible flights to Kyrgyzstan as soon as detailed information on a particular flight is received.
The Embassy continues to work on collecting information and forming the list of Kyrgyz citizens intending to return to Kyrgyzstan. In this regard, citizens are kindly requested to contact the Embassy by e-mail at email@example.com and firstname.lastname@example.org in order to be included in the above-mentioned Embassy's list.
Information about the measures taken by the Government and the Embassy in connection with the spread of the coronavirus can be found on the website and pages of the Embassy in social networks (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram), where contact details of responsible employees for emergency communication are also provided.
Thank you for your patience and understanding!
