Cultural and humanitarian cooperation

The Kyrgyz Republic and Ukraine are linked by historical scientific, educational, cultural and humanitarian relations.

Both states show mutual interest in deepening cooperation in the fields of culture, education, science and the support of compatriots permanently residing in their territories.

The legal basis for the development of cultural cooperation is the Agreement on Cooperation between the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Government of Ukraine in the field of culture of February 23, 1993.

The Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Ukraine in 2018 organized a number of literary and creative events in the cities of Kiev and Lviv, dedicated to the 90th anniversary of C. Aitmatov, held a presentation of the Kyrgyz epic "Manas", translated into Ukrainian, participated in various cultural events to promote cultural and tourist potential of the Kyrgyz Republic. The works of Ch.Aitmatov “The Cassandra Brand”, “When the Mountains Fall,” “Appointment with the Son”, “White Cloud of Genghis Khan” were translated into Ukrainian. The embassy regularly hosts tourist videos on the Embassy page and on social networks (Facebook), holds meetings with travel companies and the competent authorities of the host country.

Cooperation in education sphere

Currently, a draft intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in the field of education is under consideration by the Kyrgyz side.

Signed an agreement on cooperation between the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic and the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.

In order to conduct a historical and scientific study of the life of Kyrgyzstanis subjected to repression and exiled to the Kherson region of Ukraine, the Embassy initiated and assists an Osh State University researcher in gaining access to archival documents of Ukraine. Also, at present, work is underway to form a unified information base of Kyrgyzstanis who died during the Second World War on the territory of Ukraine.

Cooperation in aviation sphere

On the initiative of the Embassy on May 29 in Kiev, consultations were held between the aviation services of the two countries on the resumption of direct flights. The parties agreed to work on improving the Agreement between the Governments of the two countries on air traffic and signed the Protocol, according to which changes were made to remove restrictions on flights between countries by destination and number of carriers and flights. The Kyrgyz side reaffirmed its readiness to provide Ukrainian airlines with the right to the fifth “freedom of air”, which will give impetus to the air carriers of both countries to begin regular flights between the capitals of the two states.

Currently, the Embassy is actively negotiating with the Turkish airline AtlasGlobal, which is studying the implementation of the flight on the route Kiev-Bishkek-Kiev.

Cooperation in medical sphere

Taking into account the level of development of medicine in Ukraine, the Embassy is working to establish cooperation between the medical institutions of the two states, from July 6 to July 7 of this year. A trip was organized by the doctors of the National Center for Maternity and Childhood Protection under the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic headed by K. Uzakbayev, the center director, to study the experience of the Scientific and Practical Medical Center of Pediatric Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.

The embassy reached an agreement on organizing a visit by Kyrgyz doctors to the Cancer Research Center of Ukraine and the Spizhenko private clinic for the treatment of oncological diseases in order to exchange experience on the treatment of cancer patients.
