On March 25, 2022, the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in the People's Republic of China took part in a festive event on the occasion of the Nooruz spring holiday, which was held at the Secretariat of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).

The event was attended by representatives of the diplomatic missions of the member states, observers and dialogue partners of the SCO, distinguished guests from the Chinese side and media representatives.

During the event, SCO Secretary General Zhang Ming delivered a welcoming speech.  The SCO Secretary General noted that the Nooruz holiday expresses the desire of our peoples for love, friendship and harmony, the expectation of a better new life and the desire for unity, tolerance, good neighborliness and peace.

In addition, UN Secretary-General António Guterres and Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Le Yucheng delivered congratulatory video messages.

The Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan F. Arziev also made a congratulatory speech.  (Note: the Republic of Uzbekistan is currently the chair of the SCO.)

At the event, the guests were presented with the national cuisine and objects of arts and crafts (paintings, souvenirs, felt products, etc.) of Kyrgyzstan, as well as other peoples of the SCO countries.  The guests of the event were shown a concert program, which included national dances, folk songs and performances by masters of instrumental music.
