A group of deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh discussed with the Ambassador of Japan the prospects for the development of Kyrgyz-Japanese cooperation

The Head of the Deputy friendship group of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic for cooperation with Japan Mr. Talaibek Masabirov on March 22, 2022 met with the Extraordinary and Ambassador Plenipotentiary of Japan to the Kyrgyz Republic H.E. Mr. Shigeki Maeda and Permanent Representative of JICA in the Kyrgyz Republic Mr. Hiroyuki Kawamoto. The meeting was also attended by members of the deputy friendship group of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic for cooperation with Japan Mr. Nurzhigit Kadyrbekov, Ms. Dinara Ashimova, Ms. Isatbek kyzy Aida, Ms. Mirgul Temirbaeva, Mr. Zhanybek Abirov, Ms. Gulsharkan Kultaeva, Mr. Mederbek Sakkarayev.
During the meeting, MP Mr. Talaibek Masabirov stressed that this year Kyrgyzstan and Japan are celebrating the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. “Over the past three decades, our countries have achieved good results in cooperation through joint efforts. In various sectors, with the support of Japan, many grant projects are being implemented in Kyrgyzstan, which are of great socio-economic importance for the country,” Mr. T.Masabirov emphasized, adding that the Kyrgyz side is interested in strengthening inter-parliamentary cooperation with Japan.
MP Ms. Dinara Ashimova informed that measures are being taken in Kyrgyzstan to change the vector of migration, in this regard, it is necessary to expand cooperation in the field of training migrant workers in new professions in demand.
In turn, Japanese Ambassador H.E. Mr. Shigeki Maeda noted that Japan has been striving to strengthen friendly relations with Kyrgyzstan over the past 30 years. He indicated that the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) is implementing various projects for sustainable economic development. Japanese Ambassador H.E. Mr. Shigeki Maeda spoke briefly about the implementation of the One Village - One Product project and the JDS civil servant training program. "With joint efforts, we will achieve success in the further development of bilateral relations," the Japanese Ambassador added.
At the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the development of bilateral inter-parliamentary cooperation, interaction in the socio-economic sphere. At the end of the meeting, the Head of the parliamentary friendship group of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic on cooperation with Japan Mr. T.Masabirov noted that the deputies, for their part, are ready to make efforts to further develop cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Japan.
