President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbai Zheenbekov signed a Decree "On declaring July 30, 2020 a Day of national mourning in the Kyrgyz Republic".
On March 11, 2020, the World Health Organization announced the spread of the new coronavirus infection COVID-19 (hereinafter - coronavirus infection) as a pandemic.
Since the beginning of the spread of coronavirus infection in the Kyrgyz Republic, the disease has claimed the lives of many of our compatriots. This is a heavy loss for the entire people of Kyrgyzstan.
Deeply mourning for the dead and expressing sincere condolences to their families and friends, it is decided:
To declare July 30, 2020 a Day of national mourning in the Kyrgyz Republic in memory of the citizens who have become victims of the coronavirus pandemic.
On the day of mourning, take the necessary measures, including throughout the entire territory of the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as at the buildings of diplomatic and consular missions abroad, to lower the state flags of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Recommend cultural institutions and television and radio companies of the Kyrgyz Republic to cancel entertainment events and programs on the day of mourning.
The decree comes into force on the day of signing.
