Cultural and humanitarian cooperation

Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan continue to maintain close cooperation in the cultural and humanitarian sphere.

As part of this cooperation, a major project was implemented to build a comprehensive school in the city of Osh for 630 students at the expense of the Uzbek side. The Days of Culture of the Kyrgyz Republic in Uzbekistan (October, 2018), as well as the Days of Culture of Uzbekistan (October, 2017) were held with great success. In 2018, the 90th anniversary of the writer Ch. Aitmatov was celebrated at the state level in Uzbekistan.

In 2021, following the results of the state visit of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic S.N. Zhaparov to Uzbekistan on March 11-12, 2021, an agreement was reached to resume the holding of mutual Days of Culture.

In addition, a number of documents were signed in the cultural and humanitarian sphere: the Memorandum of Cooperation between the Ministry of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Ministry of Physical Culture and Sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Action Plan for 2021-2023. on the implementation of the Agreement on cooperation in the field of culture and art between the Ministry of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Ministry of Cultural Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Calendar of events for 2021–2022 on the implementation of bilateral cooperation within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding between the State Agency for Youth Affairs, Physical Culture and Sports under the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Central Council of the Youth Union of the Republic of Uzbekistan, dated December 13, 2017, Agreement on cooperation between healthcare Ministries of the two countries.

The parties continue to take an active part in cultural and sports events held in Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan.
