On May 14, 2024, on the sidelines of the 16^th Senior Officials meeting of the “Central Asia + Japan” Dialogue in Astana, a bilateral meeting was held between the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Aibek Moldogaziev and the Special Representative of the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Central Asia, Ambassador Masaki Ikegami.

The Sides exchanged views on the prospects for bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest, compared notes on the implementation of agreements following the visit of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov to Japan, and also discussed joint projects.

The Sides also discussed issues of holding high-level events within the framework of the “Central Asia + Japan” Dialogue, as well as upcoming meeting between the Kyrgyz Republic President and the Prime-minister of Japan F.Kishida.

During the meeting, an exchange of views took place on current regional and international issues on the agenda.
