On September 28, 2022 Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Aibek Moldogaziev met with the Ambassador of Canada to the Kyrgyz Republic Mr. Alan Hemson.

During the meeting, they discussed matters of trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation between the two countries.

The parties noted the unrealized potential of bilateral cooperation and agreed to carry out specific work in promoting projects of economic nature and combating climate change.

Ambassador of Canada to the Kyrgyz Republic A. Hamson proposed the organization of exchange between students of higher educational institutions of the Kyrgyz Republic and Canada in the framework of enhancing Kyrgyz-Canadian cooperation in the cultural and humanitarian sphere

Deputy Minister A. Moldogaziev informed the Canadian Ambassador about the recent military aggression of Tajikistan against Kyrgyzstan. Provided detailed information about the military actions of the Tajik side, stressing that the Kyrgyz side has always supported the peaceful settlement of border conflicts.

During the meeting the matters of simplification of visa application procedures for Kyrgyz citizens have also been discussed.
