On March 12,2019  in the Plenipotentiary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic in Osh, Jalal-Abad and Batken oblasts Mirlanbek Ismailov the Head of the Plenipotentiary met with Erkinbek Kasybekov the Advisor to the Permanent Representative of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in the Kyrgyz Republic. The meeting was also attended by Mira Subankulova UNDP Program Manager in the Osh Region, Eradzh Kaniyev the Head of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) Office in Osh, as well as representatives of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and UNDP in the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as the UNICEF Office in Osh .

Within the meeting discussed the activities of UN agencies in the framework of a new cross-border project aimed at strengthening the cooperation of young people of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan, and also considered the possibility of cooperation between local UN agencies and the Plenipotentiary in the framework of the above project.

In addition, the parties exchanged views on the prospects of cooperation in the framework of the implementation of the Decree of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic «On declaring 2019 the Year of Regional Development and Digitalization». In particular, the Head of the Plenipotentiary M.Ismailov proposed for consideration projects to strengthen the economic and tourist potential of the Osh, Jalal-Abad and Batken regions of Kyrgyzstan.

During the meeting, the sides expressed readiness for close cooperation in the implementation of projects aimed at the development of regions, including the new UNICEF, UNDP and UNFPA project in the Kyrgyz Republic to expand cross-border youth cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan.
