Trade and Economic Cooperation

Turkey is one of the main trade and investment partners of Kyrgyzstan. Economic cooperation is a priority in bilateral Kyrgyz-Turkish relations. Turkey has a special place in the structure of foreign trade of the Kyrgyz Republic as a major trading partner.

The Presidents of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Turkey set the task of increasing commodity circulation between countries to $ 1 billion.

The basis of Kyrgyz exports to Turkey is legumes (beans), nuts, cotton fiber, raw hides, gold, scrap and copper waste, and aluminum alloys.

In imports, the main share is occupied by light industry products (clothing, shoes, textiles), chemical products (dyes, varnishes, soap, detergents, perfumes and cosmetics, pharmaceutical products, plastic products, rubber, etc.), engineering products (equipment, mechanical devices, electrical machines, apparatus, etc.), foodstuffs and agricultural raw materials (vegetables, fruits, confectionery, nuts, seeds, various, etc.), products from ferrous, non-ferrous and non-precious metals, jewelry, wood products, furniture, and its accessories, leather goods, etc.

A special role in the development of trade and economic relations is played by the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Turkey, whose meetings are aimed at taking practical measures to fulfill the objectives and goals in this direction. 

An important place in the technical and economic cooperation of the two countries is given to the activities of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) and with the assistance of TIKA, a number of projects have been implemented.
