On November 21, 2018, a diplomatic reception was held in Kiev, dedicated to the 27th anniversary of independence of the Kyrgyz Republic and the 90th anniversary of the world-famous Kyrgyz writer Chyngyz Aitmatov.

The event was attended by employees of ministries and departments of Ukraine, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, representatives of international organizations accredited in Ukraine, public organizations, intellectuals, business structures, as well as representatives of the diaspora of Kyrgyzstanis living in Ukraine.

In his solemn speech, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to Ukraine Z.Sharipov noted the progressive dynamics of mutually beneficial cooperation, as well as the importance of the development of existing bilateral relations.

       In addition, J. Sharipov provided information about the foreign policy of Kyrgyzstan and important international events held this year in the territory of Kyrgyzstan.

He noted that in honor of celebrating the 90th birthday of Ch. Aytmatov and in tribute of deep respect and gratitude to the Kyrgyz writer and humanist of a planetary scale, at UN sites and in many countries of the world, events dedicated to the anniversary of the writer were held and stressed the importance of C. Aitmatov’s creativity in modern human life who turned the human eye to the acute problems of life on a global scale. C. Aitmatov turned the common man into the main character of millions of literary connoisseurs, developing in them feelings of love for human values, nature and history.

During the reception, the guests were presented a documentary on the life and work of the writer, an exhibition of works, winners of the All-Ukrainian Children's Painting Competition, based on the works of C. Aitmatov, works by C. Aitmatov, translated into Ukrainian (“The Cassandra Brand”, “When mountains”,“ White cloud of Genghis Khan ”), and also shows videos about the tourist and investment opportunities of Kyrgyzstan.
