Relatives of Doronbekov S., a participant in the Great Patriotic War who died at the front in 1943 in the Zhytomyr region of Ukraine, contacted the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Ukraine with a request for assistance in establishing the exact location of the burial.
Sergeant Dooronbekov Sabir, born in 1920, a native of the Molotovsky village council of the Kalininsky district of the Frunzen region, was called up to the front in 1941 by the Frunzensky OVK of the Kirghiz SSR. He died in November 1943 and was buried in one of the mass graves in the Zhitomir region.
As part of a set of events organized by the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Ukraine, with the active assistance of state and public organizations of Ukraine, as well as the Honorary Consulate of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Zhytomyr region, 80 years later the exact burial place of our compatriot S. Doronbekov was established.
In the documents for the certification of military graves on the territory of the city of Zhitomir, in the list of soldiers and officers of the Soviet army who died during the liberation of the Zhitomir region, who were buried at the Smolyansky military cemetery in the city of Zhitomir, under number 276 is listed as sergeant “Doronbekov Sabir”, born in 1920. Date of death: November 15, 1943. He was buried in the mass grave "537".
The collected information is confirmed by an archival certificate from the State Archives of the Zhytomyr Regional State Administration dated 09/08/2023 and issued on the basis of the f.r. - 6518, op. 1, ref. 8,.l 25.
