The Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Afghanistan regarding the false reports circulated in foreign media that the head of Al-Qaeda, Ayman al-Zawahiri was eliminated by strikes from an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), allegedly launched from the Ganci Air Force Base located at the Manas International Airport of the Kyrgyz Republic, officially declares the following.

The Transit Center at Manas International Airport (TCP Manas) ceased operations in 2014. The official closing ceremony of the Center took place on June 3, 2014. The bilateral agreement between the Kyrgyz Republic and the United States on the activities of the Manas TSC ceased to be valid on July 11, 2014.

Currently, American or other foreign military personnel are not present on the territory of Manas International Airport and do not conduct any activities.
