    On 19th December, 2020 (Saturday) in Tehran, at the initiative of the Institute of Culture of the Organization  for  Economic Cooperation, a webinar was held on the theme "Night of Yalda, Regional Solidarity" dedicated to the upcoming holiday "Shab-e-Yalda" (Note: An ancient holiday, which is long winter night - in Kyrgyzstan it is called "Childe Tunu").
     The webinar was participated  by the President of the Academy of Persian Language and Literature, the “Saadi”  Foundation, the ex-Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, academician Golyamali  Hadad-Adel, the official representative of the Iranian Foreign Ministry Said Khatibzade, as well as the ambassadors of the ECO member states: Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan H.E. Abdul Ghafoor Lival, Ambassador of the Republic of Tajikistan  H.E. Nizomiddin Zohidi, Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic H.E. Avazbek Abdurazakov, Permanent Representative of Iran to UNESCO Ambassador H.E.Ahmad Pakyatchi.
     The Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to Iran  congratulated  the participants of the webinar on the upcoming holiday of the winter solstice "Shab-e Yalda", which has been celebrated since ancient times in the ECO region on the longest night of winter.
      Ambassador H.E. A. Abdurazakov noted the proximity of the culture of the peoples living in the vast ECO region, and also told the participants how since ancient times the people of  Kyrgyzstan  celebrated “Childe Tunu”, how the Kyrgyz gathered their relatives during the winter season of slaughtering (“sogum”), invited  fellow villagers , friends, relatives, and conducted readings of the Kyrgyz folk epic "Manas" with the participation of famous manaschi.
      Also, a video film about the culture, folk traditions and tourism opportunities in Kyrgyzstan was demonstrated for the webinar participants.
