In 1995 the Kyrgyz-Austrian Joint Commission for Bilateral Economic Relations was established and had its first session in Vienna on 16 December 1995. Its 6^th session took place in Bishkek on 22 April 2016.

On 18-19 November 2014 and 31 May 2018 Austrian business delegations visited Kyrgyzstan. On 23 March 2015 in Vienna the Kyrgyz-Austrian business forum took place.

Austria supports Kyrgyzstan in development of technology and digitalization. On 23-24 May 2018 the representatives of the Austrian Federal Ministry of Transport, Technology and Innovation, Austrian Technology Corporation and private company Bit Media visited Kyrgyzstan.
