Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Republic of Austria took part in the solemn wreath-laying ceremony dedicated to the 79th anniversary of Victory Day in the Great Patriotic War

On 9 May, 2024 the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Republic of Austria together with the diplomatic missions of a number of CIS member states took part in the solemn wreath-laying ceremony dedicated to the 79th anniversary of Victory Day in the Great Patriotic War.

During the traditional event the Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Republic of Austria Tolendy Makeyev and the staff of the diplomatic mission of Kyrgyzstan laid wreaths at the memorial of Soviet soldiers on Schwarzenbergplatz Square.

For reference: The memorial, known as the Monument to the Heroes of the Soviet Army, was established in memory of 17 thousand Soviet soldiers who died in the battle for the city during World War II. This monument is located on Schwarzenbergplatz Square and is a symbol of eternal memory and gratitude for heroism in the liberation of the Austrian capital by Soviet Army soldiers, including Kyrgyz soldiers.
