Works of the great writer Chinghiz Aitmatov were presented at the International Book Exhibition, which runs until December 8, 2018 in Doha under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the State of Qatar.
The booth of the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic, decorated in national style, is dedicated to the celebration of the 90th anniversary of the Kyrgyz writer Chingiz Aitmatov. The exhibition presents his books in various languages of the world, including Kyrgyz, Russian, Kazakh, English, German. The bulk of the exhibits are books in Arabic, including those published in 2018, which indicates the author’s popularity among Arabic-speaking readers. Among them, such works of great talent as "The First Teacher", "The Little Soldier", "Date with the Son", "Farewell, Gulsary!". Videos on the 90th anniversary of the writer are shown on a permanent basis in the booth.
The Kyrgyz exhibition was visited by the Speaker of the Majlis Al-Shura (Parliament) of the State of Qatar Ahmad bin Abdullah bin Zayed Al-Muhammad, Minister of Culture and Sports Salah bin Ghanim Al-Ali, Minister of Justice Dr. Issa bin Saad Al-Jafali Al-Nuaimi, Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Dr. Gaith bin Mubarak Al-Kuwari, Minister of Administrative Development ,Labour and Social Affairs Yusuf bin Mohammed Al-Osman Fahru, Director of the Government Communications Office, Sheikh Saif bin Ahmed bin Saif Al-Thani, as well as head of diplomatic missions, diplomats, writers, students, and others. The Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic in the State of Qatar Nuran Niyazaliev told the distinguished guests about the life and work of the great writer Chingiz Aitmatov and the activities carried out in honor of his 90th birthday.
