Legalization of documents

Since August 1, 2011, the Kyrgyz Republic has acceded to the 1961 Hague Convention abolishing the requirement of foreign official documents legalization of the countries, which are parties to this Convention.

From the date of accession to this Convention, Hungarian documents, apostilled by the relevant official bodies of Hungary, are recognized on the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic without additional certification in the Embassy, as Hungary is also a party to the above mentioned Convention.

Thus, the documents issued on the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic, for use in the territory of Hungary must be apostilled ("simplified legalization") in the Ministry of Justice of the Kyrgyz Republic.

If you need to legalize a Hungarian document for use in Kyrgyzstan, you need to contact the local state or municipal authority where the document was issued for the Apostille procedure.
