On April 5, 2022 the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Ruslan Kazakbaev had a telephone conversation with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary Peter Szijjártó.

During the conversation the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic R.Kazakbaev expressed congratulations to P.Szijjártó on the occasion of the victory of the FIDESZ party in the parliamentary elections in Hungary, which took place on April 3, 2022.

Minister R.Kazakbaev noted that the victory of the FIDESZ party is an important sign of support by the people of Hungary and a deserved result of work in protecting the national interests of Hungary. R.Kazakbaev wished Peter Szijjártó and his colleagues further success in their responsible work.

The parties also discussed issues of bilateral cooperation. In particular, the forthcoming 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Kyrgyz Republic and Hungary on April 16, 2022. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic R.Kazakbaev invited the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Hungary P.Szijjártó to visit Kyrgyzstan and hold the 2nd meeting of the Kyrgyz-Hungarian Strategic Council.

In addition, special attention was paid to the necessity of launching a direct flight Budapest-Bishkek-Budapest by the Hungarian airline WizzAir as soon as possible. This flight will be the first direct flight from the Kyrgyz Republic to the capital of a member state of the European Union.

In addition, the parties discussed issues of cooperation within the framework of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) and the Visegrad Group, in particular, the initiative of the Hungarian side to hold a summit of the heads of state of the OTS and Visegrad Group in Budapest this year.
