On March 28, 2023 the opening ceremony of the Kyrgyz Republic Corner at the Department of Turkic studies of the Eötvös Loránd University "ELTE" was held in Budapest.

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic in Hungary Talantbek Kushchubekov in his speech noted that the books and publications about Kyrgyzstan, works of world famous Kyrgyz writer Chyngyz Aitmatov, epic trilogy "Manas" and etc. will be an excellent opportunity for everyone to learn more about the culture, life and traditions of the Kyrgyz Republic, which are largely similar to the culture, life and traditions of the Hungarian people.

The event was attended by the representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary, embassies of turkic-speaking states and international organizations accredited in Budapest, the faculty of "ELTE" University and students from the Kyrgyz Republic.

For the book corner the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Ministry of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy of the Kyrgyz Republic granted “ELTE” university the materials (books and souvenirs), showing the national identity of the ancient Kyrgyz people. The book corner will allow Hungarian students and teachers to learn more about the culture and life of the ancient Kyrgyz, which will certainly contribute to strengthening the friendly relations between the peoples of Kyrgyzstan and Hungary.
