On November 16, 2023 in the Museum of Ethnography in Budapest in the framework of the celebration of the 95th anniversary of the People's Writer of the Kyrgyz Republic Chyngyz Aitmatov the official opening of the Days of Kyrgyz Cinema in Hungary took place.    

The event was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary and other agencies, heads of diplomatic missions accredited in Budapest, cultural figures, creative intellectuals, as well as students from Kyrgyzstan.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic T. Kushchubekov made a welcoming speech at the event, noting the enormous contribution of Chyngyz Aitmatov to the popularisation of Kyrgyz culture, saying that the works of the writer have been translated into more than 150 languages of the world and more than 30 feature films have been made based on them, which have entered the golden fund of world cinema

In addition, the Ambassador emphasised Aitmatov's key role in the development of Kyrgyz cinema and the phenomenon of "Kyrgyz miracle" of national cinema during his work in the Union of Cinematographers of the Kyrgyz SSR in the 60-80s.

The Days of Kyrgyz Cinema in Hungary take place on 16-17 of November 2023 at the Museum of Ethnography in Budapest, during which the films "Shambala", "White Ship" and "Sagynbai Manasci" are presented to Hungarian viewers.
