On December 14, 2018, the Permanent Mission of the Kyrgyz Republic to the UN Office and other international organizations in Geneva hosted a cultural event dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the Kyrgyz writer Chingiz Aitmatov. At the event, which brought together more than 150 representatives of the diplomatic corps, international organizations, local authorities and Kyrgyz diaspora, a feature film based on “The White Ship” novella and a documentary on the writers artwork were shown. In his opening speech the Permanent Representative of the Kyrgyz Republic in Geneva Mr. Daniiar Mukashev dwelled on the life and creative work of Mr. Aitmatov, his main books, festivities in Kyrgyzstan and around the world related to the 90th anniversary of the writer, as well as activities of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and its diplomatic missions abroad on this subject throughout the year. Reception was also organized for invited guests on behalf of the Permanent Mission of the Kyrgyz Republic in Geneva.
