On July 22, 2021, the Permanent Representative of the Kyrgyz Republic to the UN and other international organizations met in Geneva A. Beishenaliev and the Minister of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic B. Azhikeev, who is currently in Geneva with a working visit, with the Secretary-General of the International Federation of Red Societies Cross and Red Crescent (IFRC and KP) D. Chapagan.

During the meeting, the parties discussed priority issues of bilateral cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and the IFRC; project activities carried out by the IFRC in the country, including in the fields of disaster risk reduction, emergency preparedness, health, migration, and social assistance. Noting the importance and relevance of the issues included in the mandate of the organization for Kyrgyzstan, Permanent Representative A. Beishenaliev emphasized that Kyrgyzstan attaches great importance to further strengthening comprehensive cooperation with the Federation. Touching upon the issue related to the situation of ethnic Kyrgyz, the Permanent Representative asked to consider the possibility of providing appropriate assistance from the organization.

The Minister of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyzstan B. Azhikeev appreciated the activities of the IFRC in Kyrgyzstan. The Minister expressed gratitude for the humanitarian assistance provided to the Kyrgyz side due to the conflict that occurred in April this year in the south of the country. Emphasizing the relevance of the project activities provided by the IFRC, the head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations asked to consider the possibility of implementing a project through the IFRC to create and equip a base of operational stocks of equipment, property and equipment for the elimination of natural emergencies, to deploy camps and field hospitals for refugees and internally displaced persons.

Secretary-General J. Chapagan expressed satisfaction with the cooperation of IFRC with Kyrgyzstan and noted the organization's readiness to continue to provide comprehensive technical, expert and humanitarian assistance to Kyrgyzstan within the framework of its mandate. In addition, the head of the IFRC assured the Kyrgyz side of its readiness to consider specific proposals voiced during the meeting on deepening the bilateral partnership between the parties.
