On November 9, 2023, at the UNHCR office in Geneva, a meeting was held between the Permanent Representative of the Kyrgyz Republic to the UN Office in Geneva O. Sultanov and the Assistant of the UN Secretary-General, Assistant of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) Gillian Triggs.
During the meeting, Ms. Gillian Triggs highly appreciated the significant progress in the development of the legislative framework in Kyrgyzstan, which provides for the introduction of the necessary procedures and mechanisms to determine refugee status and implement effective measures to solve their problems. The parties also discussed a number of other issues of mutual interest.
