Today at the UN Human Rights Council (HRC), Ambassador Omar Sultanov made a Joint Statement on behalf of 66 States, including the Chair of the European Union (EU) - Belgium, on the 45th anniversary of the UN Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women, as well as the 25th anniversary of its Optional Protocol.

Today at the UN Human Rights Council (HRC), Ambassador Omar Sultanov made a Joint Statement on behalf of 66 States, including the Chair of the European Union (EU) - Belgium, on the 45th anniversary of the UN Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women, as well as the 25th anniversary of its Optional Protocol.

The Permanent Representative of Kyrgyzstan emphasized the key role of the mentioned documents in eliminating discrimination and violence against women and girls.

In this regard, Omar Sultanov called on all states that have not yet done so to ratify the UN Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women and its Optional Protocol, as well as to remove all reservations to them.
