On June 17, 2020, Mr. Daniiar Mukashev, Permanent Representative of the Kyrgyz Republic to the United Nations Office and other international organizations in Geneva, held a working videoconference with the new Head of the FAO Representation in Kyrgyzstan, Mr. Adnan Rauf Quereshi, during which relevant topics of cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and FAO were discussed.

Particular attention was paid to the assistance provided by the FAO to Kyrgyzstan in the light of the spread of coronavirus infection COVID-19, including through the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Industry and Land Reclamation of the Kyrgyz Republi. The importance of assisting the FAO Secretariat of the Mountain Partnership to Kyrgyz Mountain Women's Associations in the development of a clothing collection using traditional Kyrgyz fabrics and its further promotion to foreign markets was noted.

Mr. Adnan Rauf Queresi assured that he would make every effort as the Head of the FAO Representative Office in Kyrgyzstan to continue providing assistance to the country. He plans to arrive in Kyrgyzstan in near future.
