On January 31, 2024, in the building of the Italian Parliament, was held meeting between the Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic Taalai Bazarbayev and the deputy of the Senate of the Italian Republic, Chairman of the Committee on Industry, Trade, Tourism, Agriculture and Agri-Food Production, as well as a member of the Parliamentary Commission against the Mafia, Francesco Silvestro.

During the meeting, the parties noted with satisfaction the intensification of Kyrgyz-Italian bilateral relations. Upcoming events in 2024 in the area of bilateral political and inter-parliamentary cooperation were discussed. In particular, taking into account the significant role of inter-parliamentary interaction, the importance of holding meetings and joint events between members of parliaments, as well as the formation of friendship groups in the Parliaments of both countries was noted.

F. Silvestro expressed his readiness to provide personal assistance in building trusting relations at the inter-parliamentary level, and also noted that he was initiating the creation in the Italian Parliament of a separate friendship group with Kyrgyzstan, which would become an essential element for establishing strong cooperation between parliamentarians of the two countries.
