On January 29, 2024, the Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to Italy Taalai Bazarbaev held a working meeting with the diplomatic adviser to the Minister of Justice of Italy Augusto Massari and the Director General of the Department of International Legal Cooperation of the Ministry Stefano Opilio.

During the meeting Ambassador T. Bazarbaev informed the interlocutors about political transformations and reforms taking place in Kyrgyzstan.

Apart from that, he drew attention to the work carried out by the Embassy along with the competent authorities of Italy to expand the bilateral legal framework in various areas of mutual interest.

He also noted the need to develop interaction in providing legal assistance in civil and criminal cases, emphasizing the readiness to cooperate in the area of transfer of convicted persons.

Diplomatic Advisor A. Massari expressed interest in establishing cooperation with the competent authorities of Kyrgyzstan in order to create a legal framework for further close interaction and exchange of best practices.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to continue interaction on the discussed issues.
