The delegation of the Kyrgyz Republic headed by the Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for National Security, Director of the ATC of the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic Aibek Shamenov took part in the events on the margins of the UN Counter-Terrorism Week in New York.

On June 19–20, 2023, Aibek Shamenov took part in the High-Level Conference on Counter-Terrorism, where he informed about the efforts of the Kyrgyz side on countering terrorism and extremism.

On the UN CT Week, on June 21, 2023, the delegation of the Kyrgyz Republic organized a side event and presented the Program of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic on countering terrorism and extremism for 2022–2027. The event was co-hosted by Kenya, UN Counter-Terrorism Office. The representatives of civil society of the Kyrgyz Republic and international partners represented by the OSCE, UNRCCA and UNDP also took part in the event.

On June 22, 2023, Aibek Shamenov delivered a statement at the Plenary session of the UN General Assembly on the Eighth Review of the UN Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy. In his speech he underlined that Kyrgyzstan firmly supports the effective implementation of the UN Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy, which is a unique global document aimed at strengthening national, regional and international efforts in the fight against terrorism.

On the sidelines of the UN CT Week, Aibek Shamenov also met with UN Under-Secretary General for Counter-Terrorism Vladimir Voronkov, Executive Director of the CTED Natalia German, as well as heads of Counter-terrorism agencies of China, Iraq and the United States. The parties discussed further steps to strengthen bilateral and multilateral cooperation.
