On November 16, 2020, а telephonic conversation was held between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic H.E. Mr. Ruslan A. Kazakbayev with the Member of the State Council, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China H.E. Mr. Wang Yi.

H.E. Mr. Wang Yi congratulated H.E. Mr. Ruslan A. Kazakbayev on his appointment as Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic and wished him success.

The Ministers discussed topical issues of Kyrgyz-Chinese cooperation, the implementation of previously reached agreements between the Kyrgyz Republic and the People's Republic of China.

H.E. Mr. Ruslan A. Kazakbayev confirmed the commitment of the Kyrgyz side to maintaining continuity in the development of friendly and good-neighborly relations with the People’s Republic of China, as well as international obligations through strict implementation of all bilateral and multilateral treaties and agreements previously signed by the Kyrgyz Republic. He informed about the current internal political situation in the Kyrgyz Republic in order to stabilize the socio-political situation, return the processes to the constitutional channel, as well as about the upcoming early presidential elections, which will be held on January 10, 2021.

Particular attention was paid to the joint fight against the spread of the coronavirus pandemic. In this context, H.E. Mr. Ruslan A. Kazakbayev expressed gratitude to the Chinese side for significant humanitarian assistance and constant support of Kyrgyzstan in the fight against COVID-19. Noting with satisfaction the great achievements of the PRC in the development of a new vaccine in this area, which is in the final third stage of the trial, he welcomed the readiness of the Chinese side for a fair distribution of vaccines, making them available to Kyrgyzstan.

H.E. Mr. Wang Yi noted that the Chinese side is interested in further increasing the export of ecologically clean agricultural products from the Kyrgyz Republic to the PRC, as well as Kyrgyz coal to the border regions of the XUAR of the PRC. Expressed the readiness of the Chinese side to continue active cooperation with the Kyrgyz Republic on topical issues on the international agenda.

The sides expressed their readiness to continue active practical interaction at all levels to further strengthen the bilateral relations of the comprehensive strategic partnership between Kyrgyzstan and China.
