Video conference between the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic and the State of Kuwait

On November 30, 2020, A video conference of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic H.E. Mr. Ruslan A. Kazakbayev and the State of Kuwait H.E. Mr. Ahmad Nasser Al Sabah was held, during which the parties exchanged views on topical issues of the regional and international agenda, and also confirmed their readiness to continue permanent contacts on all issues of bilateral and multilateral cooperation.

H.E. Mr. Ruslan A. Kazakbayev informed about the stabilization of the internal political situation in the country, preparations for holding early presidential elections, as well as the upcoming parliamentary elections and constitutional reform.

In turn, H.E. Mr. Ahmad Nasser Al Sabah conveyed greetings from the Emir of Kuwait to the new leadership of the Kyrgyz Republic and wished success in carrying out democratic reforms in the country, confirming the continuity of all previously reached agreements by the Government of Kuwait. At the same time, H.E. Mr. Ahmad Nasser Al Sabah highlighted the results of the successful activities of the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Kuwait and the intentions to open the Embassy of Kuwait in Bishkek, interest in exchanging visits at various levels and deepening interagency cooperation.

The parties touched upon the long-term plans for the further development of bilateral cooperation, health care, education, agriculture, credit and investment spheres, etc. were identified as priorities. In particular, the Ministers agreed on the need to create a joint commission to develop roadmap for further cooperation, joint investment fund and other issues.

H.E. Mr. Ruslan A. Kazakbayev expressed gratitude to the Kuwaiti side for the humanitarian assistance provided in the fight against Covid-19 and the activities of Kuwaiti charitable organizations in the Kyrgyz Republic, welcoming the intention of the Government of Kuwait to continue humanitarian cooperation with the Kyrgyz Republic.
