On December 9, 2020, At the initiative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic H.E. Mr. Ruslan A. Kazakbaev met with representatives of several Kazakh and Uzbek companies operating in the Kyrgyz Republic, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Kyrgyzstan H.E. K A Nurpeisov, Met with Charge d'Affaires of the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Kyrgyzstan Mr. U A Abduyaminov.

The event was attended by the Chairman of the State Committee for Industry, Energy and Subsoil, representatives of the State Committee for National Security, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Agency for Investment Promotion and Protection and other competent authorities.

H.E. Mr. Ruslan A. Kazakbaev in his speech praised the friendly and trusting relations with its closest neighbors - Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. He said, "Comprehensive development of Kyrgyz-Kazakh and Kyrgyz-Uzbek relations, deepening mutually beneficial, multifaceted cooperation, as well as strengthening good neighborly relations meet the long-term priorities of Kyrgyzstan". He stressed that 2020 is a difficult year for virtually all countries in the world. In particular, he also stressed that the COVID-19 pandemic has been the biggest problem for the world economy in recent years, and Kyrgyzstan is no exception.

It was noted that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, unfortunately, almost all sectors of the economy have suffered, and the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic is making every effort to restore it. He also thanked the governments of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Uzbekistan and companies from these countries for their assistance in the implementation of COVID-19.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic noted with regret the decline in foreign direct investment in the Kyrgyz Republic this year. He told about the measures taken by the authorities to stabilize the domestic political situation in the Kyrgyz Republic and ensure the safety of employees of foreign companies and their property, assured that the Kyrgyz side will pursue a policy to improve investment projects in the Kyrgyz Republic.

In this regard, representatives of the participating companies were invited to establish close contacts with the Department of Economic Diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic in order to address the issues.
