On December 21, 2020, The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic H.E. Mr. Ruslan A. Kazakbayev received the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the Kyrgyz Republic H.E. Mr. Abdul Rahman Bin Said Al-Juma.

H.E. Mr. Abdul Rahman Bin Said Al-Juma congratulated H.E. Mr. Ruslan A. Kazakbayev on his appointment as Minister of Foreign Affairs and wished him success. Along with this, he voiced the official position of the Kingdom on political processes and reforms in the Kyrgyz Republic, wishing successful presidential elections in January 2021.

In turn, H.E. Mr. Ruslan A. Kazakbayev assured H.E. Mr. Abdul Rahman Bin Said Al-Juma of the commitment of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic to the fulfillment of earlier commitments to Saudi Arabia and interest in the implementation of previously reached agreements. The sides also confirmed the absence of disagreements and misunderstandings of a political nature in relations between the two countries.

The sides discussed topical issues of Kyrgyz-Saudi cooperation and prospects for its development, including exchanges of visits by the Foreign Ministers, holding inter-ministerial political consultations, intensifying interagency cooperation, etc. H.E. Mr. Ruslan A. Kazakbayev welcomed the intentions of the Foreign Minister H.E. Prince Faisal bin Farhan of Saudi Arabia will visit Kyrgyzstan in 2021.

The sides focused on the importance of attracting investments, implementing large investment projects, strengthening ties between the business circles of the two countries. H.E. Mr. Ruslan A. Kazakbayev expressed gratitude for the long-term assistance to Saudi Arabia in the implementation of social and infrastructure projects in the Kyrgyz Republic through the Saudi Development Fund. At the same time, he drew attention to the importance of attracting financial assistance for the construction of general education schools and hospitals of wide specialization, especially in the highlands of the country. The sides also came to a common opinion on the need to expand the legal framework and the full implementation of the previously signed agreements.
