Diplomatic relations between the Kyrgyz Republic and Republic of Belarus established on January 21, 1993.

The Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Minsk opened in 1995. The Embassy of Republic of Belarus in the Kyrgyz Republic - in 1999.

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic in Republic of Belarus is Erbol Sultanbaev who has presented credentials to the President of Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko on February 15, 2024.

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Republic of Belarus in the Kyrgyz Republic Andrey Strachko has presented credentials to the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Almazbek Atambaev on October 27, 2017.

The Honorary Consul of the Kyrgyz Republic in Minsk and Minsk Region (Republic of Belarus) is Pavel Topuzidis.

Political relations

In November 2006, the official visit to Belarus of the President of Kyrgyzstan has taken place. The return official visit to Kyrgyzstan of the President of Belarus has taken place in October 2008.

Presidents and Prime ministers of two states have constant meetings within holding meetings of integration bodies of the CIS, CSTO, EEU and within SCO where Belarus side participates in quality of the observer also.

Since 2015 in the bilateral relations sustainable development of a positive tendency is noted — contacts in the political sphere became more active, cooperation of Kyrgyzstan and Belarus at international venues develops.

The Intergovernmental Kyrgyz-Belarus commission on trade and economic cooperation functions. After a seven-year break in April 2015 in Minsk there has taken place the fifth meeting of the Intergovernmental Kyrgyz-Belarus commission on trade and economic cooperation. In June 2016 in Bishkek and in June 2017 in Minsk have taken place respectively the sixth and seventh meetings of the bilateral Commission. In addition, meetings of the 10th and 11th bilateral commissions were held in Osh in September 2022 and in Minsk in August 2023.

In June 2018 for the first time taken place political consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Republic of Belarus.
