On January 30, 2024, within the framework of participation in the Investment Forum "Global Gateway" in Brussels, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic - Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture and Processing Industry B.Torobaev made a working visit to the Flemish region (East Flanders) in order to familiarize himself with advanced technologies in the food industry.

Deputy Head of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic B.Torobaev visited several large enterprises of Flanders, including the company “Agristo NV” in Wielsbeke, specializing in the production of pre-fried and frozen potatoes, as well as the company engaged in the milling of corn and oats and the production of breakfast cereals “Maselis NV” in Roeselare.

Founded in 1985 “Agristo NV” is a world leader in the production of frozen French fries and exports its products to more than 120 countries. Production capacity and high quality standards of “Agristo NV” attracted the attention of the Kyrgyz side to develop cooperation in the processing and food industry.

In turn, the company “Maselis NV”, founded in 1829 acts as a major European supplier of grain products, specializing in the use of advanced technologies for grain processing. Meeting with the management of this company opens new opportunities in the field of introduction of innovations in the processing industry of Kyrgyzstan.

It should be noted that the visit of the Deputy Head of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic B.Torobaev to these Belgian enterprises is aimed at deepening trade and economic ties between Bishkek and Brussels, as well as the development of the processing and food industry of Kyrgyzstan, including through the involvement of advanced technologies.
