Cultural and humanitarian cooperation

Definitely, cultural and humanitarian cooperation is an important area of ​​bilateral relationship. In Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan, regularly took place on a reciprocal basis, exhibitions, concerts of art masters, international scientific conferences and symposia with the participation of representatives of the intelligentsia and the public society of the two countries.

The parties jointly celebrated the 100th anniversary of M.Auezov, the 175th anniversary of Kurmangazy, the 150th anniversary of Abay, the 150th anniversary of Zhambyl, the 1000th anniversary of the epic "Manas", the anniversaries of A.Tokombaev and Ch.Aitmatov.

In September 2012, the Culture Month of Kazakhstan successfully held in Kyrgyzstan, within these concerts, tours of Kazakh theaters and creative teams, a week of cinema and artists' exhibitions took place in Bishkek and in other cities of the country.

September 25, 2012 in the Scientific Library of the Eurasian National University (ENU) named after L.Gumilyov. The Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Republic of Kazakhstan together with the Kyrgyz Ethnic and Cultural Association organized a round table on the theme “Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan for 20 years”, dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Kazakhstan. In the event attended representatives of public society and scientific society, expert community, the Assembly of the Peoples of Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan, teachers and students of ENU named after L.Gumilev and others.

From September 21 to October 21, 2013, the Days of Culture of Kyrgyzstan in Kazakhstan, dedicated to the 85th anniversary of People's Writer of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Kazakhstan Ch. Aitmatov, held in Astana, Almaty, Taraz and Shymkent. Concerts of masters of Arts of the Kyrgyz Republic took place, and an exhibition of works by modern artists of Kyrgyzstan entitled “When the mountains fall”, a “round table” on the theme “Aalam uulu - Aitmatov”, an exhibition of books on the works of the writer, a week of Kyrgyz cinema.

On May 7, 2014, the Minister of Culture, Information and Tourism of the Kyrgyz Republic K. Taliyeva took part in the international conference “Ala-Too Bulbulu” dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the prominent Kyrgyz akyn and narrator Toktogul Satylganov.

March 20, 2015. President of the Kyrgyz Republic A.Atambayev took part in the official opening ceremony of the school for 1,250 pupils in the residential area “Ala-Too” in Bishkek, built with funds allocated by Kazakhstan.

March 30, 2016 in the building of the Kazakh State Academic Drama Theater named after M.Auezov in Almaty held a concert of art masters of the Kyrgyz National Philharmonic Theater named after T. Satylganov.

On May 23-24, 2016, with the participation of the Senator of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic S.Sher-Niyaz, the historical film “Kurmanzhan Datka” was shown, organized in Astana within the framework of the meeting of the TurkPA Commission on social, cultural and humanitarian issues.

On November 30, 2016, the Center for Kyrgyz Literature opened at the National Academic Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

On April 24-28, 2017, a Kyrgyz delegation took part in the SCO Education Week in Astana.

On August 31, 2017, the Embassy held an official reception dedicated to the Independence Day of Kyrgyzstan and the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relationships between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Kazakhstan. The event was organized jointly with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic in the framework of EXPO-2017 exhibition, in which the Kyrgyz side was represented at the level of the Vice Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic C. Sultanbekova.

The Kyrgyz diaspora in Kazakhstan is also contributing to the development of Kyrgyz-Kazakh social and humanitarian ties. In 2004, the Kyrgyz National Cultural Center (KNCC) registered in Astana. Also, the Kyrgyz National Cultural Centers "Manas-Ata" in Taraz and KNCC "Ala-Too" in Aktau, the Kyrgyz National Ethno-Cultural Center "Meken", "Kyrgyz-Ata" and "Manas-Ata" in Almaty city.

In 2018, as part of events to celebrate the 90th anniversary of Ch.T.Aitmatov, June 18, 2018, the Embassy organized a photo exhibition dedicated to the 90th anniversary of Ch.Aitmatov, as part of the Third Humanitarian Forum "Great Steppe", held in Astana.

08.16.2018, the official opening ceremony of the street named after Ch.T.Aitmatov in Astana, took place with the participation of the Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic M.Abylgaziyev and the Prime Minister of the RK B.Sagintayev. The event was organized in the framework of the 7th meeting of the Intergovernmental Council of the KR-RK. Kyrgyz Deputy Prime Minister Z. Razakov, Minister of Economy of the Kyrgyz Republic O.Pankratov, Minister of Transport and Roads of the Kyrgyz Republic Z.Kalilov, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs D.Kemelova, son of Ch. Aitmatov - E.Aitmatov and representatives of Kyrgyz diaspora also took part in the ceremony from the Kyrgyz side in Astana. From the Kazakh side, the Minister of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan A. Mukhamediuly, Deputy Mayor of Astana city E. Amanshayev, Senators of the Majilis of the Parliament of RK, representatives of the cultural intelligentsia and the public society of the Republic took part in the ceremony.

September 11, 2018, in the one of the largest educational institutions of Kazakhstan - Nazarbayev University, the Embassy organized a thematic evening dedicated to the anniversary of Ch. Aitmatov. The students of the University performed a concert and theatrical performance based on the works of the Kyrgyz writer. Askar Aytmatov, President of Nazarbayev University Shigeo Katsu, Professor Gultas Kurmanbay, Professor of Kastamonu University (Turkey) Orhan Saylemez and People's Artist of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Art Director of the Kazakh Musical and Drama Theater named after K.Kuanyshbaev, Talgat Temenov, shared the thoughts about the creative heritage and spiritual precepts of Ch. Aytmatov.

On September 12, 2018 in Astana, the Embassy together with the National Academic Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan held a round table devoted to the 90th anniversary of Ch. T. Aitmatov.

The event held within the framework of the III International Congress of Reading, with the participation of writers, literary critics, scientists from Kazakhstan, Russia, Italy, Turkey, Poland, Mongolia and other countries. The delegation of Kyrgyzstan was represented by the son of Ch. Aytmatov - A. Aitmatov, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic A. Akmataliev, Professor of the KTU “Manas” K. Konkobaev, employees of the Institute of Literature of the National Academy of Sciences of the KR G.Soronkulov and S.Aripov.

The roundtable was moderated by: writer, journalist, Head of TV, radio and public relations department of the Eurasian National University named after L.N.Gumilev G.M. Shalakhmetov, by Head of the National Academic Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan U.D. Munalbayeva and by Professor at the Kyrgyz-Turkish University “Manas” K. Konkobaev.

During the event, presentations were made by O. Soylemez (Turkey), A. Akmataliev (KR), L.Stepanov (RF), A.Gotov (Mongolia), G.Soronkulov (KR), T.Alua (RK), S.Aripov (KR), F.Sessolo (Italy) and O.Turzhan (RK). Honored Activist of the Republic of Kazakhstan, playwright, akyn-improviser Bayangali Alimzhanov performed an excerpt from the epic "Manas".

In the lobby of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Embassy organized a photo exhibition dedicated to the life and work of Ch. Aitmatov and showed a documentary about the writer. The library staff designed a book exhibition dedicated to the literature of Kyrgyzstan and creativity of Ch.Aytmatov. As a memorable gift to the participants of the round table, the Embassy presented CDs with films based on the works of Ch.Aitmatov.

On the basis of the Agreement between the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan on cooperation in the field of education of June 4, 2007, the parties annually allocate on a reciprocal basis educational grants for training in higher education institutions of both countries of citizens of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. Currently, more than 120 students from Kyrgyzstan are studying at universities of Kazakhstan, more than 700 students from Kazakhstan are studying at universities of Kyrgyzstan.
