"Electronic visa of the Kyrgyz Republic"

"Electronic visa of the Kyrgyz Republic"

Since September 1, 2017, the “Electronic Visa” system has been operating in Kyrgyzstan.

The “e-visa” has significantly simplified the arrival of foreign tourists and businessmen to our country, and has reduced the time and material costs for issuing visas.

During the operation of the system, over 20 thousand visas of various categories were issued electronically, which confirm the success of the “Electronic Visa”.

It should be noted that in the summer tourist season there is a sharp increase of quantity of applications submitted (January-1301, February 1167, March - 2049, April - 1249, May - 3505, June - 4149, July - 5672).

Statistics of issued electronic visas shows that the system is becoming more demandable and in increasing demand from both of foreign tourists and domestic companies inviting citizens of foreign countries.

At the same time, with the increase of the number of applications for obtaining electronic visas, there are grievances associated with the timing of the consideration of applications or refusals to issue an electronic visa.

In this regard, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic considers it necessary to pay attention to the following.

Electronic visas are issued in accordance with the Instruction of the procedure for processing and issuing visas, approved by Decree of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic dated March 15, 2017 No. 155.

According to the specified Instruction, the deadlines for issuing electronic visas are 3 working days, taking into account the receipt of all documents listed in the Instruction in a proper manner.

Consideration of applications filed during off-hours, weekends or public holidays begins at 9.00 am of the next working day.

However, there are cases of non-compliance with the deadline for consideration, which is associated with the following factors:

• a large number of applications are received with errors (incorrectly entered personal data (name, date of birth, passport number, passport validity period, telephone numbers and addresses);

• low quality of photos or passport images attached; - visa applicants submit an incomplete package of documents required by the Instruction;

• inviting organizations submit expired documents (certificates of the Social Fund and the Tax Service about the absence of debts of the requesting organization);

• some applications, in connection with security issues, are studied for a longer time;

• e-visa system operators are forced to correct the mistakes of applicants, respectively, more time is spent on these applications for processing, which negatively affects to the efficiency and timeliness of visa issuance.

Based on the above, when filling out applications for electronic visas on the site www.evisa.e-gov.kg , the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic recommend you to carefully check all the data and make sure that all the required documents presented accordingly.

In order to avoid material losses, the Ministry also requests not to purchase airline tickets to the Kyrgyz Republic until receipt of a notice of approval of the electronic visa.
